JW MARRIOTT HOTEL XI'AN SOUTHWEST CELEBRATES THIRD ANNIVERSARY WITH GARDEN DINNER
AN EVENING OF RHYTHM AT JW GARDEN
XI'AN, Shaanxi/China (September 16, 2026) — JW Marriott Hotel Xi'an Southwest and luxury fashion house Jimmy Choo came together to host a dinner themed "The Rhythm of Pace," marking the hotel's third anniversary. Among the guests were Ms. Janet Lao, Greater China and South East Asia GM, Ms. Farah Rakesh, Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an, and over fifty leaders from Xi'an's business, fashion, and cultural communities.
Set in the hotel's fifth-floor outdoor garden, the evening was built around the idea of rhythm—letting JW Marriott's philosophy of "Stay in the Moment" move through the garden breeze and settle across the dinner table. Eschewing the noise of a traditional celebration, the evening unfolded with a quiet, understated elegance: an intimate gathering centered on lifestyle and the senses.
A highlight of the evening was the hotel's JW Garden. A small outdoor plot tended by the hotel, JW Garden grows seasonal produce such as tomatoes and lemons, with a focus on herbs—rosemary, mint, vanilla pods, and more. Every herb and a portion of the ingredients used across the hotel's restaurants are harvested directly from this garden, embodying a true farm-to-table philosophy. Throughout the seven-course dinner, elements like rosemary, mint, vanilla, and osmanthus were picked fresh from JW Garden that very day, allowing guests to taste the garden's vitality in every dish.
Before dinner, during the social hour, guests were presented with a special gesture from Shuyuanmen—folding fans inscribed by a local master calligrapher in advance. As they mingled in the garden, guests stamped the fans with fruit-and-vegetable-shaped seals, weaving together Xi'an's local culture, the art of traditional fan calligraphy, and the natural memory of JW Garden. Each fan became uniquely its own—carrying both the literary spirit of the ancient capital and the botanical imprint of the evening.
Guests were also treated to a static showcase of Jimmy Choo's latest footwear and handbags, before sitting down to a seven-course bespoke menu crafted by Executive Chef Alex and Pastry Chef Nana. Each course was accompanied by a hand-illustrated story card, inviting guests to read each dish's inspiration before the first bite.
Ms. Janet Lao, Greater China and South East Asia GM, remarked during the evening that the brand has always championed lifestyle and quality experiences, and that this collaboration with JW Marriott Hotel Xi'an Southwest was a natural and elegant encounter in the Xi'an market. Ms. Farah Rakesh, Consul General of Malaysia in Xi’an also praised the evening as one that bridged international perspective with local cultural warmth.
Mr. Dillion Wang,Hotel Manager of JW Marriott Hotel Xi'an Soutthwest, said: "A third anniversary is a moment worth marking—but we chose to mark it with a gathering about rhythm, not a ceremony. We hope every guest here tonight finds their own rhythm in this garden. That is exactly what JW Marriott means by 'Stay in the Moment'—a place where guests can rediscover a sense of calm and ease in a setting of quiet comfort."
Looking ahead, the hotel will continue to build on JW Garden and its lifestyle experiences, offering more events that blend quality with warmth, further deepening JW Marriott's distinctive presence in Xi'an.
