Chef Pier Daniele Seu Joins Forces with Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai to Present Exquisite Pizza Creations
A visionary master in the realm of pizza, Pier Daniele Seu launched his collaboration with Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts back in 2020. Central to his culinary craft is his signature pizza dough, fermented for approximately 30 hours under precise temperature control to remain light and airy. Paired with carefully sourced Italian ingredients, it yields creations with layered, well-balanced flavours. Every pizza embodies the chef’s philosophy of sharing, designed to turn mealtimes into wonderful moments of conversation and connection.
For this event, Pier Daniele Seu has exclusively created eight pizza varieties for the hotel, including beloved classic recipes as well as thoughtfully devised innovative creations. Among them, the timeless Margherita pizza artfully combines roasted San Marzano tomato sauce, aromatic basil and rich mozzarella cheese, delivering its highly acclaimed authentic original flavour.
Its more contemporary creation, the Zucchini Pizza, is baked with seasonal vegetables and accented with fresh mint, delivering a light, sweet and crisp bite. The Mixed Vegetable Pizza features mushroom purée, mozzarella cheese and roasted artichokes for a savoury, velvety profile. The Diavolo Pizza combines San Marzano tomato sauce with spicy pepperoni, boasting an intensely aromatic, enticing spicy note. The Cheese & Lemon Pizza blends Parmesan cream, blue cheese and more, yielding complex undertones amid rich dairy aromas. The Red Prawn Pizza and Beef Tartare Pizza stand out with tender, luxuriant meat textures. Rounding out the lineup is a sweet Strawberry Pizza, an inspired brainchild of the chef that showcases the allure of diverse flavour profiles.
While indulging in artisanal pizzas, Ca’ del Bosco, a trailblazing producer from the Franciacorta region and a standout winery for Italian sparkling wine, elevates the tasting experience with profound, rounded flavours. Boasting a long heritage, the winery adopts Italy’s traditional sparkling wine production method and has curated an exclusive selection of cuvées for this event. These wines harmoniously complement the multi-layered flavours of the pizzas, collectively embodying Italian terroir, meticulous craftsmanship and the joy of convivial gatherings. Drawing inspiration from this sparkling wine, Riccardo Cascione, Head Bartender of Bvlgari Bar Shanghai, has crafted bespoke cocktails that unite lively effervescence and elegant fruity notes, pairing exquisitely with the crisp crust of the pizzas.

Crafted from scratch by Michelin-starred Chef Niko Romito, the Il Gelato artisanal Italian gelato line adds a distinctive touch of sweetness to this culinary journey. Drawing inspiration from Italy’s classic piazza culture, Il Gelato makes its charming debut in the form of traditional carrettini gelato carts.

Chef Niko Romito and his team select fresh milk and natural ingredients to craft gelato with a pure, well-layered texture. Founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti, Bellavista Winery perches atop the Bellavista Hill in the heart of Franciacorta.
Boasting 209 hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates grapes and interprets the terroir by integrating artisanal traditions, humanistic values and profound attachment to the land. This profound bond with the local territory guides all day-to-day operations across its vineyards and cellars.

Developed by Overseas Chinese Town, a leading enterprise in China’s real estate sector, the Suhe Creek Redevelopment Project is an urban waterfront revitalization complex integrating high-end residences, trendy commercial spaces, art venues and urban parks.
The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai strikes an exquisite balance among soothing natural scenery, contemporary design language and heritage architecture. The historic Former Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce Building, erected in 1916 and steeped in profound history, has undergone meticulous renovation and restoration. It is artfully integrated with the 48-storey Bvlgari Tower embraced by lush greenery, collectively forming The Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai.
Occupying the top eight floors of the Bvlgari Tower, the hotel affords guests sweeping views of the Bund, the breathtaking Shanghai skyline, the iconic Huangpu River and meandering Suhe Creek. The remaining floors house Bvlgari Residences under the same brand.
In line with all properties within the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts portfolio, the hotel’s interior design was entrusted to Italian architectural firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.
