The inspiration for this exhibition stems from Wang Le’s encounter with an autistic child. Living quietly in his own inner world, the boy was reserved with words, yet able to express his inner purity and sincerity unreservedly through painting. This experience rekindled Wang Le’s original aspiration for artistic creation, and also inspired the most distinctive imagery in his works: the bandaged cat and the boy.

In his works, the bandage is not a label of scars, but a symbol of protection, resilience and self-healing. It embodies the inner resolve and courage that everyone gathers while growing up, as they learn to embrace themselves once again. The large swathes of bright yet restrained color blocks in the paintings carry fragmented childhood memories of an entire generation. Delicate brushwork gently freezes those fleeting moments of tenderness and joy.The recurring cactus motif stands for the gentle resilience forged by time: even bearing the faint marks of life, it still grows toward the sun and holds fast in quiet persistence.

Unlike some obscure and hard-to-understand contemporary art, Wang Le deliberately downplays complicated metaphors, choosing instead to engage viewers in an open and approachable way.His works require no “instruction manual” to understand. You may catch a glimmer of light by the window of a childhood room, reminisce about a gone-afternoon that can never return, or simply be wrapped in a long-lost sense of tranquility. The exhibition invites every guest to slow down, and engage in an intimate inner dialogue amid these tender, everyday scenes.
